A versatile utility player, Carl Spellman was a second-year youth scholar for the 2018-19 season.
Representing the Under-18s on numerous occasions, he captured the attention of Micky Mellon and he was subsequently offered a professional contract for 2019-20.
He signed his deal alongside three of his fellow youth cohort, joining the professional ranks at Tranmere Rovers on 28th June 2019.
Carl has, however, already made his senior debut, coming on as a 62nd-minute substitute replacement for Elliot Rokka in Rovers' 1-2 National League defeat at home to Solihull Moors on 24th April 2018.
With players such as Ollie Banks, David Perkins and Darren Potter to learn from in midfield, as well as having a former Rovers midfielder as a manager, Spellman couldn't be better placed to continue his development.
Interesting Fact: Although primarily a midfielder, Spellman played multiple matches in defence for the Under-18s during the 2018-19 campaign.
